Thank you so much for the support! 😊 I wish I saw this earlier and hope I’m not too late! I usually look for the words オーガニック or 有機, which means it’s organic, and also the words 無添加 which means preservative-free. Often in plastic square tubs, they are usually in the refrigerated section, near tofu (but ask a clerk if you can’t find it!)

Lots of great brands exist, and our household often uses Marukome’s Ryotei No Aji. But we also love picking up a bag of two when we travel to the more rural parts of Japan (Nagano, Yamanashi, Shizuoka areas are favorite day-trip places!) and experimenting with different regional flavors 🌱
