Member-only story
If you’ve been wanting to take better care of your body,
This is part of an interactive storytelling series that I’m trying out. Go through the interactive animation for the full experience! Enjoy.
If you were to grow a seedling, what would you do?
You’d put it in a place of sunshine. Give it water, but not too much. Keep it warm, but not too hot.
Watch it grow!
You’d do a little every day to nurture it, or maybe even just a few times a week.
But you wouldn’t spend all your time and energy on it.
You’d grow excited when the first leaves emerge. You may celebrate buds grow. You wouldn’t yell at it to go faster.
A plant’s growth is science, but it’s not secret science. Water, oxygen, warmth, and patience.
Our health is similar.
When taking care of your own body, practice grace and patience. Eat well and move well, but take small steps and make them joyful. Celebrate every win.
A ten minute walk, or a five minute stretch.
An apple with lunch, or some spinach tossed in pasta.
Patience, grace, joy. Take your time and enjoy the process.
Nurture your body with the perspective of raising a seedling, and one day you’ll be surprised at how far you’ve come.
