I didn’t know there was a Bengali version of pickled ginger! Thank you for sharing this Arindam!

You're so right, ginger is used in a lot of Asian cuisines and is a longtime favorite flavor-- I often add ginger into my winter soups (especially if I see people getting sick and want to boost my immunity!)

I absolutely love having gari with my sushi, as it's a great palate cleanser between pieces. There's also a different less-sweet version called 'beni-shouga', a much more vinegary and brighter red, that goes especially well with fried foods 😊
