Questions from a struggling mom

“I have always been overweight, ranging from 58 to 63 kilos, and I’m only 4'11. I was 52 kilos one time but I was running 5k 3 times a week. Now with a very active toddler, I can’t keep up, my body aches and I’m hungry most of the time. People still comment on my appearance, I don’t even bother going on a scale anymore. I realized it was the cause of my decreased confidence. What can I do?”

First I just want to say, it’s expected for our body to change when we have children — our routines change, our priorities change, and our energy becomes spread out. I hope you don’t see your weight gain as any personal failure, it’s a very common challenge. Any new parent would struggle to run 5km three times a week, even with the best support systems by their side.
