Definitely! I think personal boundaries are much stronger in Japan than I have found in the United States, and that to not be ‘meiwaku’ to others is a prevalent value many people hold.

While strong boundaries can have its caveats, respecting others and a showcase of compassion for each other is something to be shared 😊
