A Single Email Which Reminded Me of the Amazing Thing About Writing on the Internet

What you write today, can help someone years later

For those of you who aren’t familiar, kakikata.space actually started as a journaling and writing exercise website. I loved writing, believed in its therapy, and how it could help individuals become not just less stressed, but also more creative and happier people.

Over time, that’s evolved as I felt that the foundations of health stemmed from different parts of our lives, but today I came across the funniest thing which reminded me of one of the most amazing things about writing on the Internet. And it came from this single email:

I had written something about three years ago, thought that no one would ever really look at it, and had forgotten its existence myself. In fact, I had only really written it because I was excited by what I had learned in my typography class at the time, and didn’t want to forget what I had done and how to do it again.

I didn’t have a clue, but despite the lackluster number of claps and comments (which is zero haha), the article was still circulating and someone had found it! Something I had written years ago can still be useful to someone today. How strange and amazing the Internet is.

For those of you who are interested, the article is The Perfect Gift for Family and Friends Is a Homemade Book. And yes, I emailed the person back and gave them the politely asked-for file.
